Extra funding for new biomass database

Australia is a step closer towards having a database of plant waste ready to be turned into clean power and fuel.
The Australian Renewable Energy Agency on Thursday announced $3 million in funding to help create the nationwide resource and make it easier to develop new biofuel projects.
"This initiative will provide a one-stop-shop for bioenergy project developers to find out where untapped biomass resources are located, supporting industry growth and allowing new projects to get off the ground more quickly and easily," Environment Minister Greg Hunt said in a statement.
