AFL fans will converge on the MCG and gather around television sets across Australia today, when the Hawthorn Hawks and the West Coast Eagles meet in the grand final.
Dedicated Eagles fans have made the long trip from Western Australia to attend the event, and supporters enjoyed the grand final parade through Melbourne yesterday.
Victoria Police have launched a state-wide grand final weekend road safety operation called Operation Scoreboard, which will run until midnight tomorrow.
Officers will deploy extra resources including mobile safety cameras to suburbs deemed at high risk, including Melbourne, Geelong, Casey, Brimbank, Yarra Ranges, and Kingston.
