Music lovers across the country are returning to the old days of vinyl albums, with the renewed interest meaning artists are enjoying a new legion of fans.

The shift back to vinyl means stalls like the ones held at Melbourne's Camberwell Market and the collectables fair at Box Hill Town Hall are doing a roaring trade, as hundreds of music lovers make efforts to reconnect with their past.

Because of the renewed fascination with vinyl, classic songs are not only making their way back to shelves, but also to the charts.

The UK has reintroduced a vinyl album chart and vinyl singles chart, with David Bowie's Changes number one this week.

With no vinyl album presses left in Australia, the US plants are working overtime to keep up with demand.
