Mystery surrounds murder of 'gentle' Mt Druitt father

Powered by

The family of a father murdered near Mt Druitt have made a heartbreaking appeal for information.

Sydney man Erol Tokan, 38, was fatally stabbed in the heart when three men forced their way into his Dharruk home back in March.

Mr Tokan had recently celebrated fatherhood – an achievement he'd not thought would be possible, after suffering a brain injury while riding a motorbike several years ago.

Police were left baffled by the murder, saying no say there's nothing to suggest Mr Tokan knew his attackers.

As nothing was stolen, their motive remains a mystery.

"We don't know the reason why they turned up there," Detective Chief Inspector David Goddard said.

"Errol was a gentle man, he was a threat to no one."

The attackers, described as being in their late teens or early 20s were heard cheering as they ran from the house.

Mr Tokan's family have renewed calls for assistance with solving the crime.

"I'm begging you please come forward, anybody that's got any information please, we're begging as a family," Sister Fatosha said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
