Crab vs octopus battle captured on camera

If Spongebob Squarepants and the UFC had an illegitimate child, this would be it.

This terrifying battle between a crab and an octopus, which was precipitated by a surprise ambush, was shot by a WA beachgoer last week.

Porsche Indrisie was at a seaside rockpool in Yallingup filming a crab edging towards the water, when an octopus sprung from the shallow water and wrapped itself around the crustacean.

The footage was posted to Ms Indrisie's Facebook page last week, and has been viewed more than 180,000 times.
