Snowy Hydro halts operations after worker fatality
Energy company Snowy Hydro has halted all operations following the death of an employee in a truck crash in New South Wales.
The truck crashed and rolled on the Snowy Mountains Highway, trapping the driver inside the vehicle on Monday. He did not survive the crash.
The driver was working on part of the company's Snowy 2.0 project, which involves building an underground Hydro power station, linking the Tantangara and Talbingo dams.

"This is a tragic event and we are supporting our Snowy 2.0 Principal Contractor, Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV), our teams and all those impacted in the community at this very sad and difficult time," Snowy Hydro CEO Dennis Barnes said in a statement released on the company's website.
Snowy Hydro also announced they would pause operations on the Snowy 2.0 project until later tonight.
"Snowy Hydro extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends and workmates of a man involved in a single-vehicle crash on the Snowy Mountains Highway today," the statement read.
"The welfare of Snowy 2.0 workers is our immediate priority and project operations have ceased until the night shift on Tuesday 25 April."
