CCTV reveals man who bound and gagged Sydney hotel employee was armed with knife, escaped with cash

The man who bound and gagged a Sydney hotel employee early this morning managed to escape the premises with an amount of cash, police have revealed.

The knife-wielding man entered the Belmore Hotel on Burwood Road, Belmore, as the employee was closing up and detained him.

The 20-year-old man was bound and gagged while the attacker fled with some cash.

A 30-year-old security guard who had been in another area of the hotel discovered the bound employee about an hour later and called police.

The victim was not injured in the ordeal.

Police are now seeking to talk to a man who was described only as wearing a black balaclava, a white puffy jacket, and long dark pants.
