Canberra fire downgraded to advice level

Fire and emergency services in the ACT have managed to control a fire that was threatening properties earlier this evening.
Crews immediately attended the blaze and the bushfire is now at an advice level and is currently 141 hectares in size.
Pialligo Avenue is closed from Scherger Drive to Oaks Estate Road and the Queanbeyan Railway Line has also been closed.

Railway Road at Oaks Estate and Railway Street at Norse Road is also shut in both directions.
Residents in Beard, Oaks Estate and West Queanbeyan (Crestwood) have been advised to continue checking for updates and stay inside to avoid smoke inhalation.
