Residents in the northwest Victorian towns of Tempy and Gypsum have been issued an emergency bushfire warning, the second in as many days.

A fast-moving, out-of-control bushfire is heading towards Tempy, near Ouyen.

It is expected to impact Tempy, Gypsum and Pier Milan by about 5.30pm (AEDT) on Friday.

The fire is travelling southeast from Bronzewing Flora and Fauna Reserve towards Tempy and is also expected to affect properties in Pirro Road, Vallance Road, Little Road and Rownack Road.

An emergency warning issued on Thursday was downgraded in the evening but fire authorities had warned residents to stay vigilant and that the fire was not yet under control.
