A second bushfire emergency warning for people in Forrestdale in the West Australian city of Armadale has also been downgraded to watch and act.

The fire has been controlled but not contained and burning embers still pose a possible threat.

Residents of Forrestdale, in an area east of Nicholson Road, south of Armadale Road, west of Tonkin Highway and north of Rowley Road are under possible threat and should either leave now or prepare to defend their homes.

A number of roads have been closed including the Tonkin Highway at Rowley Road and Forrest Road and Twelfth Road at Forrest Road and Armadale Road.
