Emergency bushfire warning for Vic town

Emergency bushfire warnings have been issued for the northwest Victorian town of Yaapeet and nearby Hopetoun West.

Yaapeet and the locality of Nypo in the Wimmera region could be impacted by the fire in the next two hours, fire authorities said at 4pm (AEDT) on Wednesday.

A fast-moving, out-of-control bushfire is travelling southeast from Goslings Road, the warning says.

A relief centre has been set up at the Yaapeet Recreation Reserve.

There is also an emergency warning for Hopetoun West, with a bushfire travelling south from Paradise Flora and Fauna Reserve towards Eys Moyles Road.
