An elderly Queensland woman has died in hospital four days after she was freed from a crashed car by emergency services.
The 88-year-old was a passenger in a car being driven by her 84-year-old friend that was travelling along the Castlereagh Highway at Dirranbandi on Tuesday when it left the road, hit a drain and rolled onto its roof, police said.
The 84-year-old driver was helped from the wreck by a member of the public but emergency services were needed to free the passenger.
