Woman who pushed over 92-year-old in western Sydney parking dispute is arrested

A 36-year-old woman has been charged with pushing a 92-year-old man to the ground after parking across his western Sydney driveway last week.

CCTV footage given exclusively to 9News shows an elderly man called Frank asking the woman to move her car forward during a school pick-up at 3.10pm on Tuesday afternoon, November 27.

She moved her car, but pushed him to the ground in a confrontation nevertheless.

The incident was reported to police from Cumberland Police Area Command who commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, the woman responsible was arrested at Granville Police Station shortly after 2pm yesterday.

She was charged with intimidation and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Neighbour Benay Atkin was shocked to see the footage.

"It's traumatised us all seeing that footage," she said.

"He's 94 years old."

Frank declined to press charges, but both he and the woman have spoken to police.

"Frank just wanted to get out of the driveway with his car, and she didn't like that and she became very abusive," Ms Atkin said.

Frank's neighbours have since painted yellow lines on the western Sydney street to protect his driveway, and they plan to put out witches hats so he doesn't get parked in.

The woman brought him a box of chocolates to apologise, but he turned them down.

She was given bail and is due to appear at Fairfield Local Court on January 16.
