Elderly man dies in hospital after spending the night missing from Sydney aged care facility

An elderly man who spent the night lost in bushland in Sydney’s west after going missing from an aged care facility home has died in hospital.
Police searched for the 98-year-old throughout the night, and he was found in bushland near the Dean Park facility about 6.45am today.
He was suffering hypothermia and taken to Blacktown Hospital in a critical condition, and died about 8.30am.

He was reported missing from the Symonds Road facility yesterday afternoon.
Police have thanked the media and the local community for their assistance.
