Elderly man allegedly bashed unconscious by thief at Brisbane shopping centre

An 84-year-old man was allegedly bashed unconscious and robbed while using a public toilet at Brisbane shopping centre.
He was found unconscious in the Chermside shopping centre restroom about 1pm Thursday and taken to hospital.
His wallet and watch were stolen, police allege.
Detectives yesterday released an image of a man who they believed may have been able to assist with their inquiries.
A 22-year-old Beerwah man has since been charged with robbery with violence, possessing dangerous drugs, and seven counts of fraud.
He is expected to appear at the Maryborough Magistrates court today.
The 84-year-old's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
