Sydney couple shocked as Ed Sheeran shows up at their wedding
A new husband and bride were stunned when touring British crooner Ed Sheeran turned up at their wedding and began singing during their bridal waltz.
The star entered the floor and took to the stage to deliver an acoustic version of his hit ‘Thinking Out Loud’ during Sydney pair Matt and Kya Debono’s bridal waltz, at the Waterfront Function Centre in Sans Souci.
The wedding was partly funded and organised by the Sydney Bridal Expo and Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O from KISS FM, who decided to help the pair after Mr Debono wrote to the station asking for help to make his wife's dream wedding come true.
The couple had fallen on hard times financially and Mrs Debono had lost her mother to suicide in recent years.
The two radio hosts were present at the wedding and introduced the “surprise wedding singer”, who entered from the balcony complete in wedding attire as the newlyweds grasped their faces in shock before laughing and hugging.
“Happy wedding day,” Sheeran smiled as he took to the stage.
“Shall we?”
The couple happily danced, before posing for photos with their two young children and the popular musician.
“Make lots of babies,” the singer advised as his parting words.
