Ed Sheeran breaks records with Aussie tour

An army of diehard fans turned Suncorp Stadium into a makeshift hotel as they awaited pop superstar Ed Sheeran’s Brisbane show.

Sheeran is now officially bigger than The Beatles, with this tour becoming the highest-selling in Australian history, cracking one million ticket sales across Australia and New Zealand.

Some fans have been waiting in line since Saturday in an effort to be closest to the stage.

Others will line up again tomorrow, having purchased tickets to both of the singer’s Brisbane shows.

The star reportedly racked up a decent bill at Brisbane dining institution Gambaro Seafood Restaurant last night, ordering barramundi, prawns and Penfold Grange according to the Courier Mail.

“He was very relaxed, very polite, very humble,” owner John Gambaro told 9NEWS.

Brisbane is Sheeran’s final stop in Australia before the New Zealand leg of the tour.
