Ed Husic mocks Labor colleague Brendan O’Connor over press conference no-show

Labor MP Ed Husic has taken a playful jab at his colleague Brendan O’Connor, who last week lambasted the mainstream media after journalists failed to turn up to his press conference.

Mr O’Connor, the shadow employment minister, was clearly annoyed with the lack of turn-out on Thursday, which was later revealed to have been caused by an issue with the email distribution of the media alert - which notifies journalists of the time and location of the press conference.

“What no journos?” Mr Husic joked as he approached reporters in Canberra today.

“I couldn’t even get Buzzfeed? I couldn’t even get that failing piece of garbage?”

Mr Husic today spoke at the AIIA Navigating Digital Transformation Summit calling for an independent review into the government’s digital transformation program.
