Driving into hell: CFA firefighter films from centre of bushfire

A CFA firefighter has filmed the hellish surroundings as their truck drove into the heart of the bushfire zone in East Gippsland.

On either side of the road, large blazes are seen burning, with trees and bushes alight with flames.

Waves of thick smoke enshroud the fire truck as it drives into danger.

There are currently multiple emergency warnings in place in Victoria, with the situation in many country areas dire.

In Cabbage Tree Creek and Brodribb River, the CFA has issued a serious warning.

"You are in danger and need to act immediately to survive," a tweet read.

"The safest option is to take shelter indoors immediately. It is too late to leave."
