Magnitude 5.6 earthquake hits Western Australia's Goldfields region

A 5.6 magnitude earthquake has rattled near Norseman in the Goldfields region of Western Australia.
The quake occurred at around 5.40pm today, with tremors felt in Perth.
Many took to social media to express their surprise.
“It was enough that it woke me up as I started falling asleep on my couch,” Scott O’Keeffe said.
“We felt it at around 5.50pm in Kendenup, my fish tank was swaying,” Terry Barnsley wrote on Facebook.
The region experienced four considerable quakes in May, all hitting east of Norseman.
Geoscience Australia senior seismologist Jonathan Bathgate told Perth Now it was the biggest onshore earthquake recorded in WA since a magnitude 5.7 quake near Derby in 1988.
The strongest of those was magnitude 5.2.
There are no reports of any damage.
