Dutton urged to fast track resettlement

Despite banning refugee boat arrivals from resettling in Australia before losing office in 2013, federal Labor insists it never intended for people to be languishing on Nauru and Manus Island for this long.
Labor's immigration spokesman Shayne Neumann has challenged Immigration Minister Peter Dutton to sit down with him at a meeting in Brisbane on Monday to discuss resettlement options following leaked incident reports of abuse and self-harm allegations.
"We would not have let people stay in these facilities for this duration... the government seems to have done nothing in the last three years," he told ABC Radio on Monday.
