Dutch contestant busts a move during Miss Universe rehearsals

In a competition where young women are judged for their poise, there's not a lot of space for fun.

But the Dutch contestant at the Miss Universe pageant has used a pause in the rehearsals to dance like nobody's watching, even though hundreds of people were.

With all the contestants standing still on stage during a pause in the run-through, Zoey Ivory couldn't resist busting some moves as Beyonce's 'All the Single Ladies' played through the PA.

Initially just swaying to the music, Ivory quickly started to swivel her hips and step in time as audience members looked on, bemused.

Her competitors, meanwhile, are decidedly unmoved by her dancing.

But despite winning over the crowd with her playful dance moves, she didn't end up with a placement among the finalists yesterday.

Instead Frenchwoman Iris Mittenaere ended her country's 63-year drought at the beauty pageant, with Haiti's Raquel Pelissier as the first runner-up.

Mitternaere's unusual ambition as Miss Universe is to advocate for better dental and oral hygiene around the global.

The 24-year-old is currently studying to be a dental surgeon and of course, has a great set of pearly whites.

Australia's contestant Caris Tiivel was also unplaced in the competition held in the Philippines.
