Dunkley set to stay Liberal

Liberal scrutineers are confident the party can hold the Victorian seat of Dunkley.

Australian Electoral Commission figures show the Liberals' Chris Crewther leading Labor's Peta Murphy by 421 votes.

And it's expected a large majority of the 15,000 absentee, postal and pre-poll votes will break the Liberals' way.

One Liberal source told AAP preferences were going 69 per cent in Mr Crewther's favour.

Ms Murphy acknowledged on her Facebook page: "It may be something of an uphill battle to get over the line."
