Helicopter crashes in paddock near Dubbo

Two people have been injured after a helicopter crashed in a paddock near Dubbo.

NSW Ambulance attended the scene at 10.43am, where the helicopter was found on its side at Mugga View Road, which is 5km from the city.

Nine News understands a 72-year-old man was taken to hospital with a severe laceration to his head and a suspected broken leg.

There are reports a 43-year-old male self-extracted himself from the wreckage with no obvious injuries.

The two passengers were taken to Dubbo Base Hospital. Their condition is not yet known.
