Driver allegedly tests positive for cocaine after being pulled over for unsecured load

A New South Wales man has allegedly tested positive to cocaine after being pulled over for driving with an unsecured load in Dubbo.

Police had been called about a ute carrying an insufficiently secure of steel framework this morning.

Highway Patrol officers pulled over the ute about 7.30am.

"The load was able to be shifted and moved within the trailer," a statement from police read.

The 31-year-old Molong man was subjected to a roadside drug test and allegedly returned a positive sample for cocaine.

He was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station for future testing.

He was issued an infringement for driving with an unsecured load.

Future drug charges are possible pending the result of a second test.
