A man has been charged with culpable driving after a woman was found dead in a collapsed tent at a concert in Victoria's north.

Paramedics were called to a private property near Rochester, 180km north of Melbourne, about 9am (AEDT) on Sunday morning but the 35-year-old woman from Yarraville was dead by the time they arrived.

The Major Collision Investigation Unit was called to the scene to investigate whether the death was the result of a car driving over the tent, police said on Sunday.
