'Do not move the bin': Wild parking note stuns Sydney driver

A driver has been left stunned by a parking act in Sydney's inner-west.

The driver, who holds a valid disability permit, claimed they received an angry handwritten note after parking their car in a disabled spot.

"Please do not move the bin," the note read.

"The council know(s) the bin is put there for the resident to come home and be able to park."

The act has baffled the driver, who took to a Facebook group to voice their frustration.

"If you drove up a public street, found a disability spot but a recycling bin was on the road - would you move it and legally park?" they wrote.

They claimed the neighbour had then approached them and "went off at me" over the parking spot.

"If council has said it's her own private disabled spot, why isn't there a lockable bollard or a different type of sign?"

"They would never say put a bin in the spot to mind it."

According to the City of Sydney Council, most bins should be stored on private property.

"All your bins must be stored on your property between collections, not on the footpath or street," the City of Sydney Council website reads.
