Driver flees after spectacular crash leaves car on top of parked vehicle outside Sydney home

A driver has fled on foot after crashing his car on top of a parked vehicle at a home in Sydney’s north.

It is believed the P-plater was speeding down Aiken Road in West Pennant Hills at around midnight when he lost control.

The vehicle smashed through a fence and flew around 15 metres before landing on top of a parked car.

The driver then fled the scene before emergency services arrived and left his two female friends in the wrecked car.

The homeowner, Jing Liu, said she was "sound asleep" when she heard a loud bang.

"I just heard a big noise, a very, very big noise. I thought I was dreaming," she said.

Ms Liu told 9NEWS she went outside and found two girls who looked "shocked" and a young man who quickly ran from the property.

Police have determined that the car belongs to Lyle Bate, the father of one of the women in the car.

Mr Bate told 9NEWS he wasn’t behind the wheel and has never met the driver.

Police continue to search for the driver responsible for the crash. The women are co-operating with police.

A retaining wall and fence were destroyed in the crash, while Ms Liu’s garage suffered some structural damage.
