Driver charged over passenger's death

A disqualified driver whose passenger died after he crashed a stolen car during a police chase in Sydney's north has been charged with dangerous driving causing death.

On a Wednesday afternoon last October officers were chasing the 18-year-old through Frenchs Forest, in Sydney's north, when he smashed the stolen sports car into a ute, police said.

An 18-year-old passenger in the stolen car died in hospital the next day.

The driver was taken to hospital with multiple injuries, and the 25-year-old who was travelling in the ute was treated for minor injuries.

After several months of investigation, the younger driver was arrested at Nowra on Wednesday.

He was charged with several offences including aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death.

Bail was refused and he's due before Central Local Court in March.
