Driver charged after alleged high-speed chase through Adelaide’s north
A driver has been charged after allegedly being behind the wheel during a high-speed chase in Adelaide’s north this afternoon.
Police allege the 30-year-old man was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer, travelling southwest on the Salisbury Highway in Dry Creek at 3pm, when he crashed into the back of a black Toyota while travelling at a dangerous speed.
The Lancer then allegedly sped off and clipped a Holden, before crashing through a lane barrier onto the other side of the road, narrowly missing cars travelling in the opposite direction.

Police spent the afternoon retrieving the submerged Lancer and collecting it as evidence. 9News
The Lancer then allegedly crashed into a truck before the driver lost control and veered off the road into nearby wetlands.
Police allege the driver then sat on the roof of the partially submerged Lancer, before police arrived and arrested him.
The Christies Down man was charged with driving while disqualified, driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol, driving in a dangerous manner and endangering the public.
He was refused bail and will appear in court tomorrow.
Two occupants in the Toyota were also taken to Lyell McEwin Hospital because of minor injuries.
