An Adelaide couple were forced to cancel their Bali wedding after 60 of their guests were allegedly conned out of more than $30,000 by an allegedly shonky online travel agency.

Katrina Theel and Justin Brozyna had planned to have their dream wedding next May but the plans were cancelled after 60 of their 80 wedding guests discovered the flights to Bali they had purchased through the Bali Indulgence group had never been made.

Booking agent Chivonne Betts had allegedly taken the money and is now being sought by authorities.

Contact was made between Ms Betts and the 38 year-old bride-to-be in May but things quickly turned sour after the couple noticed a string of complaints on the Bali Indulgence Facebook page.

There has been no contact from anyone at Bali Indulgence since August 22, with guests losing payments and deposits valued at more than $30,000.

The couple still hope to get married in May.

Queensland Police’s Major Fraud Squad has received about 50 complaints about Bali Indulgence from across Australia.

The Office of Fair Trade in Queensland and Consumer Protection in WA have issued warnings about Ms Betts and customers have taken to TripAdvisor to warn people about the agency.

She has reportedly never held a travel agent’s licence in Australia.
