Dogs wrestle with huge cobra

Footage has emerged of a metres-long cobra locked in a fang-to-fang battle to the death with a pack of dogs.

Although vastly outnumbered, the King Cobra wages a good fight as it is surrounded by the group in a dusty outback setting in the US.

The dogs, each wearing a collar suggesting they are not wild, bark and growl as they take turns biting and dragging the large serpent.

The 3m snake bares its teeth and flares its signature hood.

Each time it selects a dog to bite, another canine pulls it in the opposite direction.

Some jump back as if reacting to pain, although it is not clear if the snake managed to land a lethal bite.

The one-minute clip, which was uploaded to YouTube yesterday, ends with the battle still in full swing, leaving the outcome up in the air.

However, that didn't stop commenters on Reddit from casting their vote, with most agreeing that the snake would not survive the lashing.
