Homeless man breaks down apologising after pet dog dies inside hot car

A Perth dog owner has given a heartbreaking apology after he left his pet dog to die locked inside a hot car yesterday.

Residents tried desperately to resuscitate 'Bully the Bull Mastiff', helping to perform CPR on the 40kg dog which was non-responsive.

Bully was inside the hot car for nearly two hours while his owner was on his way to organize accommodation.

His owner became homeless after losing his son to cystic fibrosis and losing his job – he was then forced to live out his car.

CCTV from a nearby house shows neighbours carrying Bully to water and shade.

"He was very loyal to me," the dog owner said.

"I didn’t think it was real, I just thought to myself ‘What else, what more? How much more can I take?'"

The RSPCA says this is just one of the shocking cases reported to them this week with two more dogs left in a hot car in Belmont on Tuesday.

The RSPCA are investigating Bully's owner.
