A thirteen-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after a dog attack in Sydney.

The teen was bitten at a playground on Hampstead Rd in Homebush West, with officials seizing two dogs after police were called at 3.20pm.

After being treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, he was taken to Westmead Children's Hospital.

Police have taken two dogs away after the attack, they said.

Police have seized a Saint Bernard and Rottweiler and are investigating the incident.

"Officers from Auburn Police Area Command attended and secured two dogs at the scene," NSW Police, said.

"Council rangers have taken possession of the dogs as inquiries into the incident continue."
