Dinner with Chris Hemsworth, PM for $50k

How much would you pay for dinner with Thor star Chris Hemsworth, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Liberal Deputy Leader Julie Bishop?

This once-in-a-lifetime experience, with food prepared by award-winning Sydney-based chef Guillaume Brahimi, sold for a whopping $50,000 during a charity auction for the Australian Childhood Foundation in Sydney.

The auction on Tuesday was held after a special preview screening of Hemsworth's new film In The Heart of The Sea.

"When do you ever get the chance to have dinner with a prime minister from Point Piper, a deputy leader from Perth and an intergalactic space god?" said the auctioneer.

Also sold was a walk-on role in the upcoming third Marvel Thor film for $26,000 and a hotel stay for 40 friends with a private surfing lesson from Hemsworth for $45,000.

The overall event raised over $300,000 for the charity, which helps children suffering from abuse.

In The Heart of The Sea premieres in Australia on December 3.
