Dingo attack on K'Gari sends boy to hospital

An eight-year-old boy was hospitalised after another dingo attack on K'gari.

The boy's father told authorities the child tripped on the sand and fell down.

When the man went to help his son up, the dingo jumped on the boy's back and bit him on the buttocks.

Park rangers at a popular camping ground in Western Australia will euthanise a dingo after it mauled a toddler.

The boy was taken to hospital by boat, along with his parents.

He suffered puncture wounds and scratches.

It's the latest in a spate of attacks involving dingoes - also known as wongari - on K'gari.

Recently, a 10-year-old boy was dragged underwater by a dingo on the beach there, before his sister rushed to his rescue.

Rangers have warned tourists to not feed or otherwise approach the animals, which are capable of doing serious damage.
