Desperate search for twins missing from New South Wales' Central Coast

A brother and sister have disappeared from New South Wales' Central Coast as authorities issued an appeal in the desperate search for the pair.

Twins Matthew and Mackenzie McLeod, both 15, were last seen at Killarney Vale on Saturday and have been unable to be contacted since.

They were reported missing on Monday, sparking urgent investigations into their whereabouts.

"Police hold concerns for the twin's welfare due to their age," police said in a statement.

The siblings are both of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance and about 155cm tall.

Matthew has a shaved head while Mackenzie has long dyed black hair.

It is unknown what they were wearing at the time of their disappearance.
