Defiant Queensland Premier refusing to take the blame for Stafford by-election loss

Queensland Premier Campbell Newman has come out swinging after the government’s defeat in the Stafford by-election.

Labor won the seat of Stafford with over 50 per cent of the primary vote.

Mr Newman blamed hostility of Queensland residents following the loss.

“The issue is that Queenslander’s perhaps don’t appreciate exactly the case that the state is starting to really move forward,” he said.
