Defence abuse report deadline looms

Female cadets sexually abused at the Australian Defence Force Academy in the 1990s have another week to lodge a formal complaint.

The Defence Abuse Response Taskforce said the deadline for all other defence misconduct complaints had passed but those mistreated at ADFA between 1991 and 1998 now had until September 15.

Taskforce chairman Robert Cornall said new complainants could be eligible for all Taskforce outcomes, including counselling, referral of their case to police and up to $50,000 in reparations.
