Debris to be examined for MH370 link

Authorities are examining another piece of debris found in Mauritius that may be part of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.

The plane disappeared two years ago with 239 people on board including six Australians.

So far more than 95,000 square kilometres of the 120,000 square kilometre search zone in the Indian Ocean have been completed, Transport Minister Darren Chester said in a statement.

Reuters reports that a Mauritian hotel owner who saw the debris said it looked like it was from the inside of a plane, with what he thought was a wallpaper "design", which if confirmed, would be the first piece of interior debris from the plane yet to be found.

William Auguste, who owns the Mourouk Ebony Hotel on Rodrigues Island, about 560km east of the main island of Mauritius, said the wreckage was found by guests.

"For sure it looked like part of an aeroplane - it looks like it's from the inside part of it," he said.

"There was wallpaper inside of the plane, you can see this design and part of it is still there."
