Family of Melbourne mother killed in hit-run five years ago seeks answers

The family of Melbourne woman Jennifer Moller is today making a fresh appeal for justice over their mother’s death five years ago.

Mrs Moller was walking home after playing pokies in Frankston about 1.30pm on April 27, 2012 when she was struck by what is believed to have been a 2011 white Mercedes Benz sedan.

The 54-year-old was left for dead and was unable to be revived by paramedics.

Mrs Moller’s husband John said the family is at a loss and desperately seeks closure.

“I was there, I saw my wife get hit by the car, and 30 minutes later they told me she died. It was traumatic,” he said.

“The same day I had to get my children from school and tell them what happened. The children have been through so much.”

Police believe witnesses in the area may hold vital clues over the identity of the driver, and have issued a $250,000 reward for information.

“Mrs Moller was happily married with two children. As Jennifer innocently waited to cross Skye Road in Frankston in 2012 she was struck by a car outside a bowling club in Karingal and left to die,” Victoria Police Detective Sergeant Darryl Out said.

“The day Jennifer lost her life, her children lost their mother and her husband lost his wife. Nothing will ever mend the broken hearts of Jennifer’s family, or sadly bring her back, but to have someone held to account will help bring some much-deserved closure.”

A number of witnesses came forward at the time which led police to the Mercedes, however more information is required to lead to an arrest and conviction.
