RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE ASTHMA STORM REPORT

* Strengthen communications between health organisations, including a regular meeting of all hospitals

* Get a centralised online system linking all hospitals

* Work with pharmacies to define the role they should play in emergencies

* Develop a new emergency warning process

* Share information rapidly in emergencies either by a conference call or face-to-face meetings co-ordinated by the Department of Health and Human Services

* Agencies to amend systems so emergency warnings are sent out to the public during a thunderstorm asthma event

* Combine information from health, weather, pollen and other agencies to better predict a rapid onset emergency

* Implement pollen and fungal monitoring sites across Victoria

* Public awareness and education campaign
