Daylight saving will end this Sunday, and with some simple preparation the time zone change can mean an extra hour of sleep rather than stress.

Daylight saving is observed in NSW, Victoria, SA, Tasmania and the ACT, where clocks must be put back one hour at 3am this Sunday – effectively changing the time to 2am.

While clocks will have to be changed manually, smart phones may make the change automatically, which can lead to confusion for users who aren’t aware of their phone’s settings.

Users should plan ahead and check their phones are set to automatically update the time based on their current location in order to avoid any Sunday morning confusion.

A simple web search of the local time zone on Sunday morning could also help to eliminate any confusion.

Daylight saving will come back into effect on Sunday, October 2, when clocks will have to be put forward one hour.
