* The mood for change. Shorten announced $10 billon for a suburban rail loop in Melbourne.

* A YouGov/Galaxy poll in Brisbane's Sunday Mail shows Queenslanders prefer Morrison's money-in-your pocket approach to tax over Shorten's new taxes for better services.

* More than half of older Australians want greater action on climate change compared with a mere 28 per cent at the time of the 2016 election, a survey for COTA Australia showed.
