WHERE THE LEADERS CAMPAIGNED:

* Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull: Brisbane, in Kevin Rudd's old seat of Griffith to announce more funding for an indigenous business program.

* Labor leader Bill Shorten: Darwin, in the Labor marginal seat of Lingiari to announce funding for indigenous rangers.

WHAT THE COALITION TALKED ABOUT:

* New set of measures and $115 million to support indigenous entrepreneurship.

WHAT LABOR TALKED ABOUT:

* Committing $200 million to double the number of indigenous rangers to 1550 across the country.

WHAT MADE NEWS:

* A root-and-branch review of Australia's complicated taxation system won't be on the agenda for a Labor or coalition government after July 2.

* Labor will tell Australians by the end of the election campaign when it plans to have the federal budget back in balance.

* On the 49th anniversary of the national vote that acknowledged Aboriginal Australians were part of the population, both leaders promised to boost real indigenous jobs.

* PM says a referendum on indigenous recognition and a plebiscite on same-sex marriage won't be held on the same day.
