"Stenton David Jones. Born July 10th, exactly six months after his grandad made room for him. Love you both so," the 44-year-old tweeted.

Stenton has been named after his grandfather.

The Life on Mars singer was born David Robert Jones on January 8, 1947.

Born July 10, Stenton came into the world exactly six months after Bowie died on January 10 of this year.

Mr Jones, a filmmaker, married Ms Ronquillo in 2012.

The couple announced they were expecting Bowie’s first grandchild in February.

Bowie’s last album, Black Star, has received four posthumous nominations for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.

The glam-rock record was released on January 8, two days before Bowie died of cancer aged 69.
