David Bowie reportedly planned posthumous albums, new release expected in 2017

Music superstar David Bowie’s prediction he would rise again has been seemingly validated by reports he planned the release of several posthumous albums.

A source purportedly close to Bowie has claimed the late musician planned a “long list of unscheduled musical releases” prior to his death on January 10, Newsweek reports.

While it is unknown whether these releases will contain previously unreleased work, the music reportedly has been compiled according to “eras”, with the first of such compilations expected to hit stores before the close of 2017.

Official sources are yet to confirm this claim.

Bowie’s last album Blackstar was released on January 7, one day before his 69^th birthday and three days prior to his death following an 18-month battle with liver cancer.

The pop cultural icon’s latest single “Lazarus” – named after the biblical character restored to life by Jesus Christ – appears to allude to his own death and a symbolic rebirth.
