Darwin man faces court charged with indecent dealings with a child

A 31-year-old man has faced court charged with indecent dealings with a child under ten, and taking a child under 16.

It follows an alleged incident at Darwin’s Bagot Community in the early hours of last Thursday morning.

The man remains behind bars, where he’s deemed an “at risk” prisoner.

His lawyer told the court the man had been threatened by others whilst in custody over the weekend.

9News understands Territory Families has been in contact to provide support to the family of the child alleged to have been involved.

The man is also facing unrelated charges of aggravated assault and a warrant for his arrest was made on February 7th.

He’ll face court again in April.
