Man fights for life after being crushed by boat in Darling Harbour

A man is critical after being crushed between a boat and a pole in Sydney's Darling Harbour.

Four ambulances responded to calls for help after the man, in his 30s, suffered a serious chest injury after getting caught in the pier just before midday.

The man was treated at the scene before being taken to St Vincent's Hospital in a critical condition.

A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said praised paramedics for enduring "challenging circumstances".

"Any accident involving a water craft has the potential to be extremely dangerous for both the patient and paramedics, it is imperative to create the safest possible environment to treat our patient," Superintendent Brent Armitage said.
