‘I was rubbish’: Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe slams own performance

British actor Daniel Radcliffe has slammed his own acting in the Harry Potter films.

The 25-year-old said he was particularly disappointed with his work in the 2009 installment, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the Daily Star reports.

“I’m just not very good in it,” he said.

“I hate it. My acting is very one note and I can see I got complacent and what I was trying to do just didn’t come across.”

Radcliffe was just 11 when cast in the films, adapted from the books by J.K Rowling.

He noted that starring in the hugely successful franchise from a young age meant he was forced to learn his craft on the big screen.

“Doing Potter is an incredible blessing because it gave me this opportunity to start a fantastic career,” he said.

“But then the moments I’m not as proud of – mistakes other actors get to make in rehearsal rooms or at drama school – are all on film for everyone to see.”

The series of eight films grossed more than $AUD8 billion at the global box office, making superstars of leads Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.
